Leduc Rock The Rails 2010

Rock the Rails is always a great event. We did get weathered out so not all bands were able to compete. Boo Mother Nature!!

Skateboarding, BMX, and being in a band are pretty high on the list of things that I am most likely never going to do. I am athletically challenged and unco-ordinated. The ground and I have met each other up close and personal on several occasions (usually at high speeds) and we would prefer to keep our distance from one another. I ended up with two black eyes, at the same time, the last time I played ball. Sports and I don’t mix, but I make an awesome fan.

Anyhow, back to Rock the Rails…
Watching the BMX and Skateboarding competitions are amazing. The time and talent that is involved in pulling these tricks off, and in front of a crowd is nothing short of breath taking. Typically I like to shoot these images in a series. Watching 7 still images in a trick that only takes a second or so is pretty cool.

Due to the poor weather not every participant was able to compete. I am offering an exclusive big savings offer on a mini session to bands and BMX and Skateboard competitors until Sept 20th. If you are looking for Promo material, or a kick butt images for your facebook/my space page email me for details at triciamoskal@gmail.com

Here are a few images from the event prior to being weathered out.

Oh Brother.

Sasha was just 7 weeks when I took her very first photo. I nagged asked my husband for YEARS for a second dog. Oscar was coming up on 8 years old, and I always felt he needed a play mate. Kris finally caved just after Christmas this year (around the same time I decided I wanted to have a third child) and Sasha joined our family just days before 2010.

She is playful, fun, and oh so loyal, and huge amounts of TROUBLE.

She chewed my Mother-In-Law’s favourite NEW shoes, my brand NEW shoes, Makayla’s NEW baseball glove -sensing a pattern here??
crayons, the patio deck cushion, dolls, left over food and anything else under the sun. The two balls of brand new yarn COMPLETELY unravelled throughout BOTH levels of the house.

She also went through a phase at about 3 months (she was only about 10 pounds at the time) where she would drag our 5×7 foot rug from the front entrance to the back door, the laundry room, the toy room, ANY room but the front door.

Bedroom doors needed to be closed at all costs. She would pee on Avalyn’s floor, dig on Makayla’s bed, and drag panties out of my laundry. Gross. Not to mention ate Kris’s wallet, and money, and ID. – I later told Kris that I could smell money, he thought I had won something on the lotto, I informed him the dog had gas. lol.

It is days like these that I really, really think about this photo. The days when I am in the back yard, garbage bag in hand, picking up whatever random piece of toy, bag, plant that she has playfully devoured. I grind my teeth, shake my head and mutter some not so calm things under my breath.

Then I think about this photo and am reminded of how cute she is when she snores. The hard thumps of her tail wagging when any of us walk into the room. She looks like she smiles when she is panting after some good exercise.

She loves us, and we sure love her, and all her trouble. Thankfully the year of puppyhood is almost behind us. Until then I’ll just keep this photo in mind, it is hard to be annoyed at her when she is so darn cute.

Makayla’s Back To School Haircut

Makayla had her back to school haircut this morning, so it seems like a perfect opportunity to play with the other background I bought at Vistek yesterday.

Makayla’s Purple Debut

I just came home from Vistek, one of the most wonderful places a photographer can visit. I picked up two new seamless paper backdrops and didn’t waste a minute once we were home to try it.

The Scheelar’s – Family Feature

This is the first family feature. After a few years I have developed a pretty healthy sized archive of photos. As I was upgrading Lightroom I skimmed through several years of sessions, I noticed a few interesting things. I have learned many new things, added equipment, upgraded cameras, software, learned new techniques. But most valuable, are the families that continue to visit each year. As I grow as a photographer I have the opportunity to photograph the same families in various life stages, each of them special and unique.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank a really special family. The Scheelar’s – Crystal, Barry & Drake are those faithful clients, and friends that are in front of my camera a few times each year. Crystal and I went to opposite schools growing up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and reconnected through, where else… Facebook and discovered we were both in Leduc. After years of not having contact is was great to see her so blissfully happy with Barry. The rest is history. Crystal is my trusted stylist at Paragon salon, she keeps my cut and vibrant color awesome, go visit be sure to tell her their son is adorable!

Here are some of their photos over the past 2 1/2 years.
